An exquisite antique fob pendant from the early 20th Century consisting of an ornate 9ct gold arch fitted with a round, rotating fob in the centre. The fob is inlaid with two unmarked seals, one a red carnelian and the other, a green bloodstone with speckled blood red spots.
Fobs were a popular accessory in the 18th and 19th Century and were often engraved with a signature, sentimental message, or image on an intaglio seal so that it could be stamped into sealing wax on important documents or even love letters to sweethearts during long periods of separation.
It’s a collectable antique treasure, in excellent condition and complete with clear Birmingham hallmarks which date it to 1919.
